In a bid to introduce stricter post-border supervisory measures for importations of used capital goods (Barang Modal Tidak Baru- “ BMTB ”), the Ministry of Trade (“ Ministry ”) has issued Regulation No. 17 of 2018 (“ Regulation 17/2018 ”), which amends Regulation No. 127/M-DAG/PER/12/2015 on Import Provisions for Used Capital Goods (“ Regulation 127/2015 ”). [1] Prior to the issuance of Regulation 17/2018, Regulation 127/2015 was previously amended once only through the issuance of Ministry Regulation No. 90 of 2017 (“ Regulation 90/2017 ”).Regulation 17/2018 amends several of the provisions set out under Regulation 127/2017 which pertain to the following matters:
