With a view to increasing both domestic and foreign investment in Indonesia's special economic zones while simultaneously facing the increasing challenges of globalization the Government has issued Government Regulation in Lie ofLaw No. 1 of 2007(Interim Law). The Interim Law affects only 4 Articles of the current law in this sector,Law No. 36 of 2000, but it is nevertheless a critical piece of the regulatory puzzle in ensuring Indonesia meets its investment goals over the short, medium, and long-term.
