Indonesia’s Minister of Trade (“Minister”) recently issued Regulation No. 48/M-DAG/PER/7/2015 on the General Provision of Imports (“2015 Regulation”) with the aim of instantiating a more transparent, orderly, effective, efficient and sustainable import regime. [1] The 2015 Regulation also hopes to address the longstanding problem of waiting and clearance time at seaports.
