Government Updates Legal Framework on the Implementation of Land Procurement for Public-Interest Developments in Accordance with Job-Creation Law

In an attempt to improve the investment ecosystem and expedite nationally strategic projects, the government has issued Regulation of the Government No. 19 of 2021 on the Implementation of Land Procurement for Public-Interest Developments (“ Regulation 19/2021 ”), which implements the various changes relating to land procurements that were previously introduced under the framework of Law No. 11 of 2020 on Job Creation (“ Job-Creation Law ”). [1] Furthermore, Regulation 19/2021 has also repealed and replaced the previous legal framework that addressed land procurements in the public interest, specifically Regulation of the President No. 71 of 2012 (“ Regulation 71/2012 ”). [2]
