Govt. Implements National Transportation Controls in Effort to Prevent the Wider Spread of the COVID-19 Pandemic

In an effort to further slow the ongoing spread of the COVID-19 pandemic, President Joko Widodo has ordered the implementation of large-scale social restrictions (pembatasan sosial berskala besar –“ PSBB” ) across Indonesia, which include restrictions being placed upon different modes of transportation. Against this background, the Minister of Transportation (“ Minister ”) has just issued Regulation No. PM 18 of 2020 (“ Regulation 18/2020 ”), which sets out a number of provisions relating to controls over transportation during the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic in an effort to prevent its further spread.
