Govt. Introduces New Provisions on the Construction of Firebreaks

As originally mandated under Regulation of the Government No. 23 of 2021 on the Organization of Forestry (“ Regulation 23/2021 ”), [1] as well as to mitigate the effects of wildfires and minimize their widespread impact through the construction of firebreaks (sekat bakar),  the Minister of Environment and Forestry (“ Minister ”) has issued Regulation No. 28 of 2021 (“ Regulation 28/2021 ”), [2] which will now serve as a set of guidelines for the construction of firebreaks for all relevant actors, including business actors operating within the forestry sector.
