In order to enhance the effectiveness of the distribution and supervision of hazardous substances (Bahan Berbahaya– “ B2 ”), as well as to prevent any misuse of B2 and related waste products, [1] The Minister of Trade (“ Minister ”) recently issued Regulation No. 7 of 2022 on the Distribution and Supervision of Hazardous Substances (“ Regulation 7/2022 ”). The promulgation of Regulation 7/2022 has now simultaneously repealed and replaced the previous framework for the distribution and supervision of B2, specifically Regulation of the Minister No. 44/M-DAG/PER/9/2009 of 2009 on the Procurement, Distribution and Supervision of B2, along with its various amendments (collectively referred to as “ Regulation 44/2009 ”).
