In recent years, Indonesia has been able to maintain a position in the whitelist category of the Tokyo Memorandum of Understanding (Tokyo MoU), an international organization that focuses on port state control within the Asia-Pacific Region. [1] In an effort to maintain this position, the Director-General of Sea Transportation (“ Director-General ”) has introduced Decree No. KP-DJPL 320 of 2024 on Guidelines for the Inspection of Indonesian-Flagged Ships Sailing Overseas to Enhance Supervision of Ship Seaworthiness Compliance (“ Decree 320/2024 ”), which has been in force since 27 May 2024.
