Govt. Introduces Technical Standards for LTE and IMT-2020-Based Telecommunications Equipment and Devices

In an effort to provide greater protection and convenience as regards the use of telecommunications devices, the Minister of Communication and Information Technology (“ Minister ”) recently issued Regulation No 13 of 2021 (“ Regulation 13/2021 ”) on Technical Standards for Telecommunications Equipment and/or Mobile Telecommunications Devices as the Basis for Long-Term Evolution Technology (“ LTE ”) and International Mobile Telecommunications-2020 Technology (“ IMT-2020 ”). [1] The promulgation of Regulation 13/2021 simultaneously repeals and replaces Regulation of the Minister No. 27 of 2015 on Technical Requirements for Telecommunications Equipment and Devices as the Basis for LTE (“ Regulation 27/2015 ”).
