Govt. Issues SKKNI for Movie Censorship Within the Art, Entertainment and Recreation Category

In an effort to provide clear, systematic standards and working guidelines for movie censors, the Minister of Manpower (“ Minister ”) recently issued Decree No. 87 of 2023 on the Stipulation of Indonesian National Work Competency Standards (Standar Kompetensi Kerja Nasional Indonesia– “ SKKNI ”) for the Art, Entertainment and Recreation Category under the Main Group of Entertainment, Art and Creativity Activities for the Position of Movie Censor (“ Decree 87/2023 ”). It should be noted that the Draft SKKNI for movie censors was previously approved through a national convention that was held in Jakarta in April 2022. [1] In addition to stipulating new SKKNI for movie censors, Decree 87/2023 also mandates the formation of the Competence Standards Committee (“ Committee ”). [2]
