Govt. Officially Details Carbon Trading Registration Procedures via SRUK: Non-Compliance May Now Trigger Administrative Sanctions

The Minister of Environment/Head of the Environmental Control Agency (“ Minister ”) has issued Regulation No. 10 of 2026 (“ Regulation 10/2026 ”) on the Carbon Unit Registry System (Sistem Registri Unit Karbon– “ SRUK ”). Now serving as the implementing framework to Regulation of the President No. 110 of 2025 on the Organization of Carbon Economic Value (Nilai Ekonomi Karbon– “ NEK ”) Instruments and National Greenhouse Gas (“ GHG ”) Emissions Controls (“ Regulation 110/2025 ”), [1] Regulation 10/2026 formally establishes the SRUK as a platform that will now provide and manage carbon unit data for NEK, support the achievement of Indonesia’s Nationally Determined Contribution (“ NDC ”) and prevent any double counting [2] occurring.
