The Indonesian Government is continuing to open up the energy sector, particularly in terms of the possibilities that the solar power-plant (Pembangkit Listrik Tenaga Surya– “ PLTS ”) industry represents. Indeed, State-Owned Enterprises (“ BUMN ”) are being encouraged to further develop PLTS and the government has set a target of 6,500 megawatts of solar electricity by 2025. [1] In order to achieve this PLTS goal, many individual endeavors will be required and the Director of New, Renewable Energy and Energy Conservation at the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources is hopeful that an additional 400 new individual customers will install on-grid PLTS by the end of December 2019.
