The Minister of Finance (“ Minister ”) recently issued Regulation No. 185/PMK.04/2022 on Customs Examinations Within the Import Sector (“ Regulation 185/2022 ”) in an effort to improve the flow of goods through customs areas, as well as to introduce more advanced customs examinations within the import sector. [1] As a consequence, the previous legal basis for the examination of imports by the customs service, i.e. Regulation of the Minister No. 139/PMK.04/2007 and its Amendment (collectively referred to as “ Regulation 139/2007 ”), has now been repealed and replaced by Regulation 185/2022.
