In 2023, the Indonesian Government issued Regulation of the President No. 60 of 2023 (“ Regulation 60/2023 ”) on the National Strategy for Business and Human Rights (Bisnis dan Hak Asasi Manusia- “ BHAM ”). In addition to being a reference for use by relevant stakeholders in order to enforce and protect various aspects pertaining to human rights during business activities, [1] it is also hoped that the National Strategy for BHAM will encourage businesses across the nation to proactively incorporate human rights into their operations, including through the establishment of a dedicated policies, as well as through processes of due diligence that aim to prevent and mitigate risks associated with human rights violations.
