The Minister of Trade (“Minister”) has issued Regulation No. 41/M-DAG/PER/5/2016 (“Amendment”), which amends Ministry Regulation No. 82/M-DAG/PER/12/2012 on Requirements for the Importation of Cell Phones, Handheld Computers and Tablet Computers (“Regulation”). [1] The Amendment is aiming to boost investment within the telecommunications sector in Indonesia, specifically as it relates to cell phones, handheld computers and tablet computers (“collectively referred to as “Gadgets”).
