The Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources(“Ministry”)has issued Regulation No. 35 of 2017 (“Amendment”)which amends Ministry Regulation No. 6 of 2017 [1] (“Regulation 6/2017”)on Procedures and Requirements for the Granting of Recommendations for the Sale of Processed and Purified Minerals Overseas.The new Amendment redefines a number of provisions which pertain to the export of washed bauxite as well as to the verification process for construction plans and for the physical progress of construction as regards domestic refining facilities. This verification process must now be undertaken by an independent verifier.
