Govt Updates Airfare Price Floors to Improve Aviation Safety

Despite strong criticism from stakeholders, the Minister of Transportation (“Minister”) has finally issued Regulation No. PM 91 of 2014 (“Second Amendment”) to increase the airfare floor or lower threshold for economy class passengers on scheduled domestic flights. Prior to the Second Amendment, this matter was regulated under Ministerial Regulation No. PM 51 of 2014 (“2014 Regulation”), [1] as amended by Minister Regulation No. PM 59 of 2014 (“First Amendment”).
