In a bid to ensure greater business certainty, accelerate business licensing services and support the implementation of sugar imports, the Minister of Trade (“ Minister ”) recently issued Regulation No. 14 of 2020 on Sugar Import Provisions (“ Regulation 14/2020 ”), which updates various provisions that address the importation of raw sugar, refined sugar and white plantation sugar (collectively referred to as “ Sugar ”). Previously, similar provisions were addressed under the now-repealed Regulation of the Minister No. 117/M-DAG/PER/12/2015 , which bore the same title (“ Regulation 117/2015 ”). [1]
