Guidelines for Forest Reclamations in Utilized Forest Areas Introduced: Drafting of Two Forms of Reclamation Plan Now Mandatory for PPKH Holders

Generally speaking, the utilization of forestry areas during mining activities should be carried out in line with Forest Area Utilization Approvals (Persetujuan Penggunaan Kawasan Hutan– “ PPKH ”) that are issued by the Minister of Environment and Forestry (“ Minister ”). [1] In this regard, holders of PPKH are required to carry out forest reclamation activities in used forest areas (“ Reclamations ”) in order to restore the balance of the relevant ecosystems. [2]
