In 2022, the Halal Product Guarantee Agency (Badan Penyelenggaraan Jaminan Produk Halal- “ BPJPH ”) issued Decree No. 145 of 2022 on the Use of the Halal Logo and Halal Labels on Halal-Certified Products, which was subsequently amended by Decree No. 88 of 2023 (collectively referred to as “ Decree 145/2022 ”). As its title suggests, Decree 145/2022 requires all business actors to affix halal labels to their halal-certified products. Furthermore, the Appendix to Decree 145/2022 sets out detailed guidelines for the affixation of said labels, including official specifications relating to color, placement and size.
