Halal Industry Awards Incoming: Broader Award Categories and Expanded Eligibility for Higher Education and SME Hubs

The Minister of Industry (“ Minister ”) has recently issued Regulation No. 20 of 2026 (“ Amendment ”), which amends the previously established Regulation of the Minister No. 25 of 2025 (" Regulation 25/2025 ") on the Indonesia Halal Industry Awards (“ IHYA ”). The Amendment introduces pivotal compliance and procedural shifts by restructuring award categories, eliminating sector-specific classifications for manufacturers, and requiring new administrative submissions for newly eligible entities such as higher education institutions. Companies and participating bodies must now align their application strategies with these streamlined classifications to successfully navigate the assessment process.
