House Passes Bill on Second Amendment to KPK Law

Since its inception back in 2002, the Corruption Eradication Commission (Komisi Pemberantasan Korupsi– “ KPK ”) has been the main spearhead and symbol of anti-corruption reformation in Indonesia, as the body has remained fiercely independent and has resisted any influence over it which various other parties both within and outside the government have attempted to exert. However, a number of parties have complained that the KPK has amassed too much power, resulting in the submission of several applications for judicial review over the past decade.
