On 27 October 2016, the House of Representatives (“House”) finally passed the Bill (“Bill”) on the Amendment to Law No. 11 of 2008 on Electronic Information and Transactions (Informasi dan Transaksi Elektronik- “ITE Law”). [1] In essence, the Bill aims to accommodate recent developments relating to electronic information and transactions which have evolved since the original ITE Law came into force. [2] The Bill does this by amending a number of the ITE Law’s provisions, specifically ones which address the following matters:
