Ignorance of the Law is No Longer an Excuse - KPI and the Police Working Together

The signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) between the Indonesian Broadcasting Commission (KPI) and the National Police Force of the Republic of Indonesia (POLRI) should reasonably be interpreted as a warning shot across the bow of Indonesian broadcasters, particularly those that have been pushing the boundaries of prevailing regulations relating to programming content. The MOU enumerates the cooperation that is to be pursued by the KPI and POLRI in the enforcement of the prevailing criminal provisions in the broadcasting sector.
