On 15 May 2023, the government introduced various measures that involve the management of sea-based sediments that take the form of natural materials formed by processes of corrosion and erosion (“ Marine Sediments ”) through the issuance of Regulation No. 26 of 2023 on the Management of Marine Sedimentation Byproducts (“ Regulation 26/2023 ”). [1] In the wake of the issuance of this framework, the Minister of Marine Affairs and Fisheries (“ Minister ”) has now issued Regulation No. 33 of 2023 on the Implementing Regulation to Regulation 26/2023 (“ Regulation 33/2023 ”), which has been in force since 18 October 2023.
