In order to ease the burden of current import-export mechanisms but at the same time strengthen the import monitoring and examinations mechanisms, as addressed under several Ministry of Trade (“ Ministry ”)regulations, the implementation of said mechanisms has now been shifted from within customs-and-excise areas to areas lying outside of the official customs-and-excise areas (“ Post-Border ”). [1] As a set of guidelines for the implementation of said Post-Border examinations, the Ministry has issued Regulation No. 28 of 2018 on the Implementation of Post-Border Import Examinations (“ Regulation 28/2018 ”).
