Implementation of Post-Border Supervision for Imports of Specific Products

In a bid to improve the overall effectiveness of imports of specific products , as well as to introduce stricter post-border supervisory measures, [1] the Ministry of Trade (“ Ministry ”) has issued Regulation No. 12 of 2018 (“ Regulation 12/2018 ”), which amends Ministry Regulation No. 87/M-DAG/PER/2015 on Import Provisions for Specific Products (“ Regulation 87/2015 ”). [2] Regulation 87/2015 was previously amended third times, most recently through the issuance of Ministry Regulation No. 94 of 2017 .In essence, Regulation 12/2018 sets out two new provisions which relate to imports of the specific products set out under Regulation 87/2015, which pertain to the following matters:
