Implementing Framework for TPKS Now in Force: Businesses and Schools Pushed to Take on Active Prevention Roles

Back in 2022, Law No. 12 of 2022 (“ Law 12/2022 ”) on Crimes of Sexual Violence (Tindak Pidana Kekerasan Seksual– “ TPKS ”) was introduced as a legal umbrella framework and features provisions that address the entire scope of TPKS, along with various preventive measures and the right of victims to enjoy mitigation, protection and recovery efforts. In order to implement said provisions, the Indonesian Government has now decided to issue Regulation No. 30 of 2025 on the Prevention of TPKS and the Mitigation, Protection and Recovery of Victims of TPKS (“ Regulation 30/2025 ”), which has been in force since 18 June 2025.
