Importers Beware: Unreported Import Realizations May Lead to Active License Suspensions

The Minister of Trade (“ Minister ”) recently issued Regulation No. 18 of 2026 on the Second Amendment (“ Second Amendment ”) to Regulation of the Minister of Trade No. 16 of 2025 (“ Regulation 16/2025 ”) on Import Policies and Regulations in an effort to improve and ensure smooth flows of imported goods. The Second Amendment introduces critical operational flexibilities but will now apply to importers, primarily by permitting Surveyors’ Reports (Laporan Surveyor– “ LS ”) to be issued after import approvals have already expired.
