With a view to not only creating a competitive cement industry but also to ensure product quality and consumer protection the Government has put into place a national standards policy that is to come into force as of 17 October 2007. The regulatory framework for this policy initiative is contained in Minister of Industry RegulationNo. 35/M-IND/PER/4/2007which was issued on 17 April 2007.
