Indonesias Maritime Industry Sets Sail: GT 50,000 Joint Venture Vessels Must Be Registered by October 2025

The Draft Bill (“ Draft Bill ”) is set to amend Law No. 17 of 2008 on Shipping, which was previously amended by Regulation of the Government in Lieu of Law No. 2 of 2022 on Job Creation (“ Regulation 2/2022 ”) (collectively referred to as “ Law 17/2008 ”), and was officially signed into Law through the issuance of Law No. 66 of 2024 on the Third Amendment to Law 17/2008 (“ Third Amendment ”), which has been in force since 28 October 2024.
