The Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources (“ Minister ”) recently issued Regulation No. 3 of 2026 (“ Regulation 3/2026 ”) on Indonesian Sustainable Palm Oil (“ ISPO ”) Certification for Palm Oil Bioenergy Businesses, which officially came into force on 22 January 2026. As its title suggests, Regulation 3/2026 outlines a new mandatory ISPO Certification regime that will apply to all palm oil bioenergy companies (“ Bioenergy Companies ”), specifically companies that produce biofuels, biomass and/or biogas from palm oil.
