Issuance of Technical Recommendations, Recommendations, Statement Letters and Registration Certificates via the SIINas Portal

The Ministry of Industry (“Ministry”) has issued Regulation No. 67/M-IND/PER/8/2016 on Guidelines for the Issuance of Technical Recommendations, Recommendations, Statement Letters and Registration Certificates Through the Electronic System at the Ministry (“2016 Regulation”).The 2016 Regulation aims to improve effectiveness and legal certainty as regards the provision of services at the Ministry, [1] by setting out the procedures which should be followed when issuing the aforementioned documents via the online platform at http://siinas.kemenperin.go.id , which is known as the National Industrial Information System (Sistem Informasi Industri Nasional–“SIINas”) portal. [2] The 2016 Regulation is of relevance to producers, importers and distributors of goods working across various industries, as well as to officials working at the Directorate General of Industrial Management (Direktorat Jenderal Pembina Industri–“Directorate General”).Types of DocumentsAs mentioned above, four types of document are issued by the Directorate General via the SIINas portal. These documents are to be issued based on the products and/or activities which are specified in Appendix I to the Regulation, as described in the following table: [3]
