KDI Price Calculations Get a Makeover: New Formula Components for WIUP Holders

In 2023, the Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources (“ Minister ”) introduced Decree No. 23.K/MB.01/MEM.B/2023 (“ Decree 23/2023 ”) on the Formula for the Calculation of Compensation Prices for Information Data on Mining Business License Areas (Wilayah Izin Usaha Pertambangan– “ WIUP ”) and Special Mining Business License Areas (Wilayah Izin Usaha PertambanganKhusus – “ WIUPK ”). As its title suggests, this framework stipulated the applicable formula for information data compensation (Kompensasi Data Informasi– “ KDI ”) calculations, along with relevant applicable components, aspects and coefficients.
