In an attempt to foster a conducive commercial environment and healthy competition within Indonesia’s business sector, the Business Competition Supervisory Commission (Komisi Pengawas Persaingan Usaha– “ KPPU ”) has issued Regulation No. 2 of 2021 on Guidelines for the Imposition of Fines for Monopolistic Practice and Unfair Business Competition Violations (“ Regulation 2/2021 ”), which is aiming to provide greater legal certainty concerning the imposition of administrative fines, as originally addressed under Regulation of the Government No. 44 of 2021 on the Implementation of the Prohibition of Monopolistic Practices and Unfair Business Competition (“ Regulation 44/2021 ”).
