Legal Framework for Construction of Smart Buildings Introduced

In an effort to ensure the availability of sustainable natural resources and to mitigate the effects of climate change through the use of smart buildings (bangunan gedung cerdas– “ BGC ”), [1] the Minister of Public Works and Public Housing (“ Minister ”) has issued Regulation No. 10 of 2023 (“ Regulation 10/2023 ”), which now stands as the legal framework and technical guidelines for the organization of any BGC that are used by the government and/or the general public. [2] Regulation 10/2023 has been in force since 6 November 2023.
