Indonesia’s National Energy Policy (Kebijakan Energi Nasional– “ KEN ”), which was originally introduced through the issuance of Regulation of the Government No. 79 of 2014 (“ Regulation 79/2014 ”), sets out a comprehensive framework of main and supporting policies that have been steering the country toward its 2050 energy goals. [1] In this regard, it should be noted that key aspects of the KEN, as featured under the framework of Regulation 79/2014, were briefly summarized in the following edition of Indonesian Legal Brief (“ ILB ”): “ New National Energy Policy ”.
