Long Awaited Regulation on Protection of Migrant Workers Finally Issued

After nearly a decade since the enactment of Law No. 39 of 2004 on Placement and Protection of Indonesian Workers Abroad (“Law”), the Government has finally issued one of the most important regulations in early 2013, namely Government Regulation No. 3 of 2013 on Protection of Indonesian Workers Abroad (“Regulation”). Its issuance serves to implement several Articles of the Law, respectively Articles 77 (2), 80 (2), 81 (3), and 84.
