Macroprudential Framework Updated: Expanded Corporate Securities and Private Placements Create New Funding Opportunities for Banks

Bank Indonesia (“ BI ”) has issued Regulation of the Board of Governors No. 18 of 2026 (“ Second Amendment ”) on the Second Amendment to Regulation of the Board of Governors of BI No. 23 of 2025 on the Macroprudential Intermediation Ratio (Rasio Intermediasi Makroprudensial- “ RIM ”) [1] and Macroprudential Liquidity Buffer (Penyangga Likuiditas Makroprudensial- “ PLM ”) [2] for Conventional Commercial Banks (Bank Umum Konvensional– “ BUK ”), Sharia Commercial Banks (Bank Umum Syariah– “ BUS ”) and Sharia Business Units (Unit Usaha Syariah– “ UUS ”), as amended by Regulation of the Board of Governors of BI No. 1 of 2026 (collectively referred to as “ Regulation 23/2025 ”). The Second Amendment officially came into force on 1 July 2026. [3]
