Mandatory Placement of Export Proceeds Deriving from Natural Resources in Domestic Banks

As a part of its 16^theconomic policy package, the government recently issued Regulation of the Government No. 1 of 2019 on Foreign Exchange Export Proceeds from the Business, Management and/or Processing of Natural Resources (“ Regulation 1/2019 ”), with the ultimate aim of attracting a greater amount of foreign exchange export proceeds deriving from natural resources (Devisa Hasil Ekspor dari Barang Ekspor Sumber Daya Alam– “ DHE SDA ”) into the country.Regulation 1/2019 encompasses several provisions which specifically address the following matters in a bid to achieve the abovementioned goal:
