Mandatory Safety Glass for Buildings Certification Takes Effect in January 2027: Businesses Must Affix Both Physical SNI and Electronic Marks Before Distribution

The Minister of Industry (“ Minister ”) has issued Regulation No. 22 of 2026 (“ Regulation 22/2026 ”) on the Mandatory Implementation of the Indonesian National Standard (Standar Nasional Indonesia– “ SNI ”) for Safety Glass for Buildings and Panels. Under this Regulation, all industrial companies, foreign manufacturers, and importers that manufacture, import, or distribute safety glass for buildings and panels in Indonesia are required to undergo a conformity assessment process in order to obtain an SNI certificate.
