The Indonesian Government has issued Regulation of the Government No. 11 of 2023 (“ Regulation 11/2023 ”), which has been in force since 6 March 2023. This new legal framework stands as the legal basis for measured fishing, which is a way of ensuring the sustainability of fish resources and adequate welfare for fishermen, as well as providing expansion and employment opportunities, increasing the added value and competitiveness of fisheries products, ensuring business certainty and making an overall contribution to the country and its business climate. [1] As a consequence of the promulgation of Regulation 11/2023, the following provisions, as set out under two previous regulations, have now been repealed and replaced: [2]
