In a bid to accelerate the development of renewable energy in order to meet domestic demand for electricity, [1] the Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources (“ Minister ”) recently issued Regulation No. 4 of 2020 on the Second Amendment (“ Second Amendment ”) to Regulation of the Minister No. 50 of 2017 on the Utilization of Renewable Energy Resources for the Production of Electricity (“ Regulation 50/2017 ”). [2] Regulation 50/2017 was amended once previously through the issuance of Regulation of the Minister No. 53 of 2018 (“ Regulation 53/2018 ”).
