Membership Registration Procedures and Premium Re-composition for the Unemployment-Insurance Program Further Regulated

Through the issuance of Regulation of the Government No. 37 of 2021 (“ Regulation 37/2021 ”), [1] the Indonesian Government has now set out the primary regulatory framework for the organization of the unemployment insurance (jaminan kehilangan pekerjaan– “ JKP ”) program. In essence, the JKP program is a new program that is organized by the central government and the Social Security Agency for Employment (Badan Penyelenggara Jaminan Sosial- “ BPJS Ketenagakerjaan ”) and guarantees that workers who have been laid off can obtain certain benefits in the form of cash payments, access to job-market information and employment training.
