Minimum Initial Deposits of Collateral for Financing of Margin and/or Short-Selling Transactions Now Reduced to Rp. 50 Million

In 2020, the Financial Services Authority (Otoritas Jasa Keuangan– “ OJK ”) introduced Regulation No. 55/POJK.04/2020 on the Financing of Securities Transactions by Securities Companies for Customers and Short-Selling Transactions by Securities Companies (“ Regulation 55/2020 ”) which, at its core, outlined the applicable requirements and mechanisms that apply to securities companies and securities, as well as customers involved in the financing of margin and/or short-selling transactions (collectively referred to as “ Securities Transactions ”).
