Mining Businesses with Approved RKAB Now Required to Secure Approvals Prior to Initiating Coal Blending Activities

The Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources (“ Minister ”) has issued Regulation No. 6 of 2026 (“ Amendment ”) on the Amendment to Regulation of the Minister No. 17 of 2025 on Procedures for the Preparation, Submission and Approval of Work Plans and Budgets (Rencana Kerja dan Anggaran Biaya– “ RKAB ”), [1] and Procedures for the Reporting of Mineral and Coal Mining Business Activities (“ Regulation 17/2025 ”). The Amendment officially came into force on 12 June 2026. [2]
