Minister of Health Introduces New Procedure for Issuance of STR and SIP for Medical Workers and Healthcare Personnel

Through the promulgation of Law No. 17/2023 on Health (“ Law 17/2023 ”), matters pertaining to the issuance of Registration Certificates (Surat Tanda Registrasi– “ STR ”) and Practice Permits (Surat Izin Praktik– “ SIP ”) have now been fundamentally altered. [1] However, as the implementing regulation that will specifically address these matters has yet to be enacted, the Minister of Health (“ Minister ”) has issued Circular No. HK.02.01/MENKES/1911/2023 (“ Circular 2/2023 ”), which should be used as a stopgap reference during the issuance of STR and SIP in the wake of the issuance of Law 17/2023.
