As the lengthy process of updating Law No. 32 of 2002 on Broadcasting, as amended by Regulation of the Government in Lieu of Law No. 2 of 2022 on Job Creation (“ Law 32/2002 ”), continues apace, the government has introduced a revised version of the Draft Bill , which will act as the Second Amendment to Law 32/2002 (“ Draft Bill ”). This is an interesting development in itself as the previous version of the Draft Bill issued in October 2023 was planned to repeal and replace the entire framework of the currently in force Law 32/2002.
