New Artificial Intelligence Ethics Framework in the Works: Stricter Safeguard and Risk Mitigation Standards Set for Introduction

In the wake of the absence of nationally applicable and systematic ethical provisions governing the principles, values and ethical governance of artificial intelligence (“ AI ”), the government is currently preparing a Draft Regulation of the President on Ethics of Artificial Intelligence (“ Draft Regulation ”). [1] If the Draft Regulation ultimately comes into force, this framework shall serve as a reference for the development, organization and utilization of AI technologies, including the applicable roles and responsibilities, as well as risk identified and mitigation measures that should be applied by relevant parties.
