On 18 November 2025, Indonesia’s House of Representatives (Dewan Perwakilan Rakyat– “ DPR ”) officially enacted the Bill on Criminal Procedural Law (“ Bill ”), with this new Law scheduled to come into full effect on 2 January 2026. [1] In light of this effective date, the new statute will apply concurrently with Law No. 1 of 2023 on the Indonesian Criminal Code (Kitab Undang-Undang Hukum Pidana– “ KUHP ”), which was enacted on 2 January 2023. [2]
